Configure Look & Feel

The Appearance functionality enables a user to configure the "look and feel" of the MiScout SCADA Desk surrounding including layouts, styles and more. The Appearance tab is located next to the Home tab on the main application ribbon. Therefore, click this tab on the main ribbon to open its toolbar.

As you can see, the Appearance toolbar allows a user to customize the Layout, Look and Feel, Skins and Data Settings. Therefore, the toolbar options are grouped according to the following sections:

Layout

The Layout section enables you to choose the available layout from the Load Layout drop-down menu by clicking an arrow icon next to it.

By default, the currently used layout is shown in the Load Layout bar.

Furthermore, you can design your own layout and save it for further use by clicking the Save Layout button. The more layouts you save, the more options are provided in the Load Layout drop-down list.

Skins

User is free to select among the variety of available skins to adjust the color range and appearance of visual components (i.e. windows, tabs, etc.). Please be aware, that MiScout skin is selected by default.

Additionally, clicking the arrow icons to the right of the Skins window allows a user to navigate through available skins. Alternatively, click the icon to open the whole Skins menu presenting all available skins.

Data Settings

Data Source - defines the way of data retrieving from MiScout Server:

• User Default - data source, assigned for a user account;
• Along with Online - initiates refreshing of data set with data received from the controller;
• Database only - provides only previously collected offline data.

Time Zone - select the time zone for displaying the time in MiScout Desk:

• UTC - Coordinated Universal Time;
• System Local - time zone which corresponds to the current location of the system, on which MiScout Desk is running;
• Show Time Zone Info - select this check-box to have the time zone displayed, where applicable.
